New disabled access from the East Cloister to the Camery Garden.The new doors were made by the Clerk of Works, Mr Michael Haycraft, and funded by the Friends from a donation towards improving access for wheelchair users.

The Friends of Wells Cathedral were founded in 1933 and there are now Friends across the globe.

The Friends support the Chapter of Wells in the maintenance of the fabric, life and work of the Cathedral. The Friends have contributed to projects big and small, relating to the building and to departments within the Cathedral Foundation.

The Friends' Office in the West Cloister is normally open:
Monday 10:00 to 12:00noon, Wednesday 12:00noon to 14:00 and Friday 15:00 to 17:00.
The Office istaffed by volunteers and opening times cannot be guaranteed.  
Messages left on the answering machine will be listened to at times when the Office is closed and replied to as soon as possible.
